DENVER, Colorado, March 1, 2000 - J.D. Edwards & Company (NASDAQ:JDEC)., a leading supplier of e-business software solutions that deliver speed and agility, and Trévi, Quebec's largest supplier of swimming pools and equipment, have announced the successful implementation of the first phase of a total e-business solution that integrates J.D. Edwards' graphical 3D configurator with OneWorldT, J.D. Edwards' enterprise business planning and execution software. The solution will be demonstrated for the first time at the Salon national de l'habitation de Montreal, Canada from February 25 to March 5.
Phase one of Trévi's e-business solution takes advantage of Active CRM's CustomWorks application, an integral component of J.D. Edwards' ActivEraT Solutions for enabling virtual enterprises to compete in the new economy. Active CRM, drawing on integrated supply chain execution, offers Internet-based capabilities to manage all phases of the customer life-cycle through marketing, sales and service. Featuring self-service functionality and storefront solutions, Active CRM is the only Web-based collaborative solution that provides a 360-degree view of the customer relationship.
CustomWorks, integrated with OneWorld® enterprise business planning and execution software, helps create a to-order/postponement manufacturing environment that allows Trévi to adjust to its customers' detailed and specific requirements on demand. By accessing Trévi's virtual store, customers will be able to configure a swimming pool to their specifications including color and size and send the customized blue print instantaneously to the contractor for scheduling. The virtual store will also provide real time access to photographs, drawings, technical documentation and product information in real time and allows customers to order aboveground and underground pools, spas as well as pool accessories online.
Phase two of the e-business solution involves the implementation of J.D. Edwards' Customer Service Management System (CSMS). CSMS will allow customers to inquire into the status of their order including scheduling and installation dates, accessory deliveries, maintenance and service scheduling.
The integrated e-business solution will allow Trévi to deliver excellent customer service and reduce errors through a streamlined supply chain and the automation of processes traditionally handled manually by sales representatives.
"Our goal is to have more than 50 percent of our sales coming from our web site within three years," explained Clement Hudon, Trévi's president. "To accomplish this we need to partner with a company that provides a comprehensive, flexible and agile e-business offering that integrates our back-end infrastructure with the applications required to conduct business on the web effectively and efficiently. J.D. Edwards is the only partner that can offer all this."
"Many companies in Canada are thinking about e-business whereas Trévi is actually putting their ideas into action," said Robert Beauchemin, vice president and general manager for J.D. Edwards Canada. "Working as a team we have been able to pull all the technology and strategy pieces together to develop a fully integrated e-business solution in under just four months. This is a fantastic example of how companies can realize their dreams through e-business."
